Grand Central opened in 1871. It was the busiest train station in the country. It took 10 years of construction. The architects and designers of this building are Cornelius Vanderbilt, John Welborn Root, John B. Snook, and Alfred T. Fellheimer. The materials that were used to build this were bedford limestone, granite, Tennessee marble, botticino marble, and caeon stone.

Directions from Hotel at 768 5th Avenue
For walking directions from your hotel, head southwest on grand army plaza towards W 58th street. Then turn left onto W 58th street. When you see 5th ave, turn right onto it. After that turn left onto E 47th street. Turn right on Vanderbilt, you will see your destination.
